Saturday November 14, 2026 | KING KALĀKAUA LĀ HĀNAU CELEBRATION
Our King Kalākaua Lā Hānau celebration is an event in rememberence and honor of King David Kalākaua. This will be held in honor of his 190th birthday in 2026. This event is targeted to give Oʻahu's at promise populations opportunity to learn and experience hoe waʻa (canoe paddling). Hoe waʻa was a passion of King Kalākaua's, a sacred extension of ourselves, and a healing experience with nature. Unfortunately, hoe waʻa increasingly inaccessible for Hawaiʻi's youth and at-promise populations due to cost. This event will be focused on giving those populations education and access first. If you have interest in this event, please navigate to our contact page and reach out!
